Description

Local Council Hurafesh (pronounced Khur'feish) is situated on Road 89 east of Ma'alot in Galilee. Founded abour 400 years ago and a Local Council since 1967. Pop. 4,500, 96% of them Druze.

During my visit I spotted the unofficial municipal flag, white with the emblem in natural colours with inscription in Hebrew below it. I found no adequate image of the emblem so I drew it myself. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot, Yalkut ha-Pirsumim), YP 1533, 19 September 1969. Source: author's own observation, 18 September 2001.
