Please note that this section of the Flags of the World website concern itself with flags of fictions. Those chosen for inclusion have met these criterias:

  • They have appeared or been described in a published work of fiction (book, movie, television, video game)
  • Their authors do not claim them to be real (mistaken representation of flags or dubious claims are dealt under the relevent national pages)
  • The entity they represent (or the fictionalised version of it) does not exist in real life (Real organisations based on fictional creation such as the klingon language institute are dealt separatly)
You will also noticed that some fictional entities appear with more then one version edited separatly. It should be remebered that in fiction in general where there has been more then one incarnation of a character or place (such as a book being made into a movie which itself is remade), flag report are taken to stand only for that particular incarnation and not the rest.
